A young man, Ali Mills, died during the Bring Me The Horizon concert at Alexandra Palace last Friday night. The circumstances that led to his death are still unclear.
According to the witnesses, security carried someone who seemed to be unconscious out of the pit cage during the concert. Emergency services assisted the victim immediately after, but sadly were unable to save his life.
Questioned about the event, a London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that they received a call around 9.48 and that the first medic arrived at the venue in less than 3 minutes.
‘We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and
our hazardous area response team to the scene. Our first medic arrived in less than three minutes.’
The venue released a statement from its official twitter account without disclosing any detail in regards of the tragic event in the hours after the incident.
A medical incident occurred at last night’s Bring Me The Horizon concert. Our thoughts and condolences are with the individual’s family and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to them. We hope you can appreciate we cannot provide any further comment at this time.

A few fans of the Sheffield band, however, blamed the venue and the organisers for the alleged lack of security at the venue on Friday. The rumours forced Alexandra Palace to release a second statement denying any possible correlation between the young man death and their security standards.
Following the above statement, we would like to clarify that this was a tragic medical incident and unrelated to the extensive security measures in place. However, we feel we must address inaccurate information. There were over 150 security personnel on site for the concert.

Hayley Garner, one of the many fans who were in the pit cage on Friday, seems to confirm the venue’s statement. “I saw someone faint but I didn’t think it was anything serious, staff got there really quickly and everyone was ready to make room to get them through.”
The band expressed their sadness over the death:
Words cannot express how horrified we are feeling this evening after hearing about the death of a young man at our show last night. Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones at this terrible time. We will comment further in due course.
