England will play Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia next summer in UEFA Euro 2024 hosted by Germany.
The Euro 2024 draw was held on Saturday in Hamburg, Germany.
England are the overwhelming favourites to win their group with Skybet giving them 2/5 odds to come top.
DR Sports pundit Matisse Armani said, “There’s enough of a test in there to at least warm England up.”
Armani believes that England will face decent competition, particularly from top individual players. “There are some good players on Denmark while Serbia is a physical team with Vlahović and Mitrovic”, he added.
This is reflected in the FIFA World Rankings with only one of their group opponents in the top 20 – Denmark (19).
Craig Burley, former Chelsea midfielder, said: “It’s another tournament where there’s no potential banana skin for England, they will top that group.”
England previously faced Denmark in the Euro 2020 semi-final beating the Danes 2-1 after extra time.
Skybet has England and France as their favourites to win the competition, giving both countries 7/2 odds.
Burley continued: “It’s now or never for England.”
A fan poll conducted by EA Sports FC revealed only 20 per cent of fans believe England will win the tournament with the majority (31 per cent) predicting the Three Lions to bow out in the semi-finals.
Euro 2020 ended in heartbreak for England, losing on penalties to Italy in the final, after going 1-0 up in the first five minutes at Wembley Stadium.
England looks to go one step further this year, kicking off their Euro 2024 campaign against Serbia on June 16 at 8 PM BST at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Then Denmark on June 20 at 5 PM BST at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany.
Their final group game is against Slovenia on June 25 at 8 PM BST at the RheinEnergie Stadion in Cologne, Germany.
